i saw horses in the fog while hiking in the pyrenees, and it was kinda mesmerising. i painted this spread the next day, sitting by the fireplace, and i still really like it.

A set of screenshots showcasing a moment between my oc, Krieg, and Ultima, Krieg is a brown Highlander Hyur with dark brown hair. Ultima in this form Krieg has manifested, appears as a tall humanoid figure. It's head is crested with a crown of orange and white feathers, which shield the anomaly that sits in the back of Ultima's head. It also has a long set of feathered tails, a similar shade of burning orange. Ultima is sat upon an ottoman, as Krieg's hand reaches over from off screen to hold an earring up to Ultima's head feathers. It is a piercing shade of green. A close up of the side of Ultima's face. It's feather now adorned with the earring. The anomaly that sits in the back of it's head, where the rest of a skull should be, glows. A set of text that reads: "Dressed in such ways you don me in fabrics as one does kin and not a god." Krieg regards Ultima closely. The low hum reverberating from behind It's crown of feathers mingling with the background noise of crackling wood, "Did you want me to adorn you in gold and finery?" " I do not want. Do you?" Eyes deep inside sunken sockets rest unwavering as they stare down the man. A slight tilt of the head. But It's neck does not move. Though his heart begins to pound, Krieg holds Ultima's gaze before turning towards his desk. Among various books and rolled up drafts he grabs a small box and returns to where Ultima sits upon an ottoman and takes a spot across from Them. Fabric shifts and feathers flicker as Krieg opens the box and begins looking through a collection of earrings, various shades of gold and multicolored jewels resting carefully. He makes a choice and lifts it, catching the fire's light as he leans towards Ultima and holds the earring up to the feathers that sprout from the side of It's head. Not an offering, an examination. Eyes roll to the side to peer at Krieg. Minutes pass in relative silence. The persistent hum from the entity beginning to make Krieg's fingertips ache and teeth hurt, but he continues to measure earrings up against the form and hue of Ultima's face. Some are placed on the table next to him, others are returned to the box. But no words are shared. Until finally, Krieg is left with two sets, and he presents each one to Ultima. A curiosity he can not sate, "Which one do you prefer?" the text continues: The hum grows into his skin. Choking muscle, teething on bone. Ultima looks down at the earrings. Both are gold, one comprised of hoops and gifted with brilliant red jewels. The other, golden links elegantly carry piercing green baubles. "I came to be in your image and so I shall stay. The choice is yours." A pause. A hint of movement. The hum retreats and leaves a ghost of pain as it returns to it's place as background noise. Krieg smiles faintly, strained, and puts one of the earrings away. A flash of red catching Ultima's eyes before it disappears into the box once more. Krieg leans back in, searching for a good spot to decorate. He does not meet Ultima's gaze. "This is what you wanted." He doesn't answer right away, focused on willing the earring into place on Ultima's form before standing. Box in hand, Krieg moves to return it to it's place on a shelf of cherished items. "No. I would have chosen the red. But your eyes betrayed your tongue."
