I've been enjoying my time off from making comic pages, and it's definitely helped me make other art here and there without it feeling like my brain is trying to attack me! Mission accomplished? I'm not good at resting, so I'm doing my best to not push myself but still stay busy.

In cat news, the kittens have been running around like crazy today and getting out into the house more often. Mama cat still won't come out for me, but she's getting fluffier for the winter 😭😭😭. I left her some sardines and she does not care. Thanks, girl.

I think the core idea of Back to the Future, other than that time travel is awesome, is that unchecked neuroticism and poor self-esteem is detrimental generationally.
Also that you shouldn't bang your mom if you go to the past, no matter how thirsty she is for you.

The babies are out of baby jail (their playpen) off and on now, and it's been going fairly well! Arthur here is easy. He likes to cuddle and follow me. His brother Mouse loves me when he's forced to, which is inside the playpen with no escape. So there must be a balance for now.

I gotta say, trying to get a job post-2008 was traumatizing and impossible, and I still have multiple friends who never recovered from the complete lack of job market during those times. There were no jobs, barely even retail.
That being said, I think graduating now would break my spirit worse.

In generally positive cat news, mama cat has been much less neurotic today. I'm not sure if she was in heat or what. A mini one? Is that a thing? But I dosed her up good with catnip all over the damn garage and she had a great time with it, so that and the calming diffuser seem to be helping

This kid is for sure in heat. She's way more restless than the day I set up the camera two days ago. She slept maybe two hours total. Sorry little kitty, staying in the garage is birth control for now.

Okay, I have too much life going on to parse what's happening with the Epstein files, but I look forward to various people on YouTube milking it for content for the next month so I don't have to comb through any of it myself

This poor kid has been going up and down in my garage all goddamn day, minus a few chunks where I think she was asleep. I assumed she was doing the cat thing and sleeping for 20 hours, but instead, she's like a caged tiger. I know she's feral, but until I get her fixed, she has to stay in the garage

The cool thing about having a camera in my garage to watch my feral cat is that now, it also captures me taking care of my feral cat, which means I get to see myself lumber around my garage like someone's sleepy, drunken uncle. Good for my self esteem! I suddenly have a lot of chins!

Guess who now has the power to spy on my dumbass garage beast? I've set her up multiple warm places to sleep, though to my knowledge, she's sleeping in a (clean) unused covered litter box. I'm trying to entice her into the heated cat house, but I'll spy on her to see if she goes in or not.

My friend just sent me a photo of her 8th grade cousin's homework, and for what was maybe three sentences worth of work, there were multiple misspellings, almost nothing capitalized, and it barely made sense. I asked if she was in remedial classes or diagnosed with dyslexia, and my friend said no.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Every year the same things happen, and every year, I dread them like it's all come out of nowhere. It gets dark earlier, it gets cold, winter is hunting me for sport...it's almost like I live somewhere with weather.
Somehow, I've never adjusted. I can't. It's cold and dark and it makes me weird.

In kitten related news, I got both of them purring today for the first time. Mouse, with the white nose, hasn't done that before! This other kid is a total lover, but I haven't nailed down a name for him yet. Suggestions? I'm thinking an old man name but I don't have a good one yet.

I confirmed that one of mama cat's hiding spots in my garage is a decommissioned covered cat box that I have facing backwards on a shelf. It's clean (cleaning it was annoying and why it's out there), but it's weirdly tragic that she feels safe in this dark box that's facing the wall 😭

My neighbors are basically my grandparents, even though they're not much older than my parents would have been. I help them with house stuff, and the wife gives me random food and treats sometimes. Today, I got bagels and a few potatoes lol. I love some spare potatoes, why not

My friend and I (mostly him tho) got my garage attic whipped into shape after...20 years? Insulated, organized, cleaned...feral mama cat is still exploring it. She's mad because we added more wood to spots she was using to get in and out, and I also moved her cozy cat hut. Sorry, mama.
