I made it to Chicago! I collected my luggage and made it through customs in record time, got on the Blue Line in record time, and that conductor drove that train like a bat out of hell, so now I'm sitting on my final train home with a few minutes to spare 😭

For sure, but when it's on a small private group, it feels weird to be shushed lol. But it turns out, the rumors of the situation just didn't align with what she wanted, I think, even though they're likely true

I just figure some people can't handle the context around "I'm reporting what I've heard/seen" versus "I'm reporting the absolute truth". I guess I personally want to know all the sides of something that I can find before I determine the truth, and I don't think that counts as rumor or speculation

Why does one person's dislike of rumors or secondhand info (reported as such) trump my enjoyment of seeing what I can piece together from various contexts?

And I wonder if it's generational or cultural issues I'm running into that I'm not understanding in online forums. I'm not telling you that this is stone cold fact. I speculate all the time, that's completely normal, but then I'll get shot down and the conversation is over like I'm spreading lies?

I get frustrated in online discussions sometimes, because if you say you read something or you heard something, you'll get shot down for speculating or spreading rumors. I never said I'm reporting facts, I said I'm reporting what I've seen. Why am I not allowed to speculate or report this?

Sadly, my garage kittens got out of their damn playpen and ran back to their mom who's hiding in my garage loft, so my friends back home have been wrangling them. They caught two, but there are two to go. We'll see! I'm sending in my cat expert friend after he's done with work 😭😭😭

I've been quiet on social media because I've just been enjoying my trip and seeing things and going to museums and shit, but it's my last night in London and I have a giant bed and free breakfast and a bathrobe, and I just have to say that I love credit card points.

Oh wow, that's wild! We do fucking love corn in the US. There's a guy a few hours from me in Indiana who raises Wagyu/Angus cross cows in conjunction with a Japanese sister farm...I wonder what he feeds them other than grass

Today's UK eating adventure was to see what tacos taste like here, because I like seeing what a taco is like in other non-Mexican places. It was good! Genuinely! I tried a place called Wahaca (props, Oaxaca wouldn't have worked here) and they were quality fancy tacos.

I think the pub I'm staying at is also a chain pub, Fuller's, though not as widespread as Weatherspoons at least. The food is mid, but at least they still make meat pies as needed

I could see that! The trick that helps when I make them at home is smaller pieces of lettuce so it doesn't all slide off. Sometimes I layer the condiments so it helps glue things together. I run into the sliding issue with sandwiches a lot so I avoid them 😂. Also lunch meat is too processed anyway
