Good morning team!
Has anyone come up with a list of potential topics for the AQA Level 2 Further Maths Paper 2? 🙏

In #MathsToday I started with my new cohort of L2 further maths student.

Ussain Bolt, Newton, Geogebra and even some limits. Lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon!

In #MathsToday we went from big numbers to multilingual and finished up in the 4th dimension with @standupmaths.bsky.social

Can anyone guess what the lesson was about?

In #MathsToday, my Year 13 Further Maths class were playing with hotwheels cars!

I love mechanics!

So this is it...

Thanks @drfrostlearning.bsky.social for the diagonals fact. But keep it in a grid to factorise at the end so no "split the middle".

Thoughts?

I made a starter pack for KS5 maths (teachers, posters, and other people involved in it)
Most of the starter packs I've seen for maths teachers have been for all age groups, so this one is aimed towards sixth form (16-19 ish)
Please let me know if you'd like adding (or removing)!

Is there a proper name for the chain rule "done fully" (ie by writing it out as dy/dx = dy/du x du/dx and substituting all the values) vs just doing it (differentiate outside function, multiply by derivative of inside function)?
I call it the "quick chain rule" and the "full chain rule"

I finally have a method to factorise non-monic quadratics that is easy to do and makes sense. I'm so happy.

Bonus that my Year 11s now use it smoothly!

How far ahead do other maths teachers plan? I struggle to be more than a lesson or two ahead but want to try to be more forward thinking this year. Any tips you want to share?
