Vale Jon Kudelka - a brilliant artist who knew the power of comedy in holding truth to power, and effecting change.

His work showed a genuine and profound love for people and nature - often funny, often heartbreaking, but always incisive.

Australia has lost a great today.

Jon Kudelka was not just the creator of the best tea towel in Australian history, and a great cartoonist and artists, but he was a superb friend, incredible husband and dad.

Goddamn I will miss him

"I will gladly accept any amount of future pain to do more to protect kids".

He forgot to add "unless I can monetise the production of child sexual abuse material via my AI bot that spewed out hundreds of thousands of images in just a few days"
You'll rarely see a more transparent admission of guilt

It takes a village to protect & enable abusers. There's the people who take part in the abuse, the ones who help to cover it up & the ones who know what's going on but who choose to look away. Not a single abuser acts alone. It takes a village. And that village is more vast than most people realise.
I need people to understand that it’s not just Epstein, it’s the entire rape culture that existed before and after him at every socioeconomic level. That’s why Epstein, who I’ve never thought was particularly smart or interesting, was able to pull this all off—he recognized how abuse functions

this is distorted by putting rent subsidies in the social housing column. Rent assistance is ALSO free public money given to landlords, who are already wealthy, by definition.

Australia spends more on tax breaks for landlords than social housing, homelessness and rent assistance combined
Exclusive: Acoss report shows property investors received $12.3bn in tax concessions in 2025, while the share of social housing dropped to a record low

This week, an X user created an AI video of me being chloroformed and prepared for rape.

Victims are told it's not real and they're getting offended for no reason.

But nudification tools are weapons of sexual assault, and the harm they cause is real 👇

Wait. People are still horrified, "even after" they made it so that child sexual abuse material can only be made in some locations and not others? What a surprising turn of events
Global outrage persists over sexualized deepfakes created by Elon Musk's AI tool Grok, even after his social media platform X said it was blocking the chatbot from undressing images in certain locations

It takes a village to protect & enable abusers & sometimes that village includes the University of Sydney substantiating THIRTY FIVE allegations of harassment by a staff member against a student & doing nothing more than giving him a warning & keeping him employed

Reminder that submissions to the review of the Exposure Draft Legislation: Combatting Antisemitism, Hate and Extremism Bill 2026 close at 4PM TODAY & that you can make a submission that says the Bill should not pass because TWO DAYS is a woefully inadequate consultation period
This is such great advice and I've just done exactly that. If you've never made a submission before, all you need to do is create a My Parl account, put your contact info into the form & then upload your submission (feel free to copy and paste from the alt text). Only takes a few minutes!

With a budget surplus of $273 million how can the Malinauskas government be serious about not funding critical support services in the face of a growing crisis? How about taxing big corporations to invest in the housing we need so badly?

jfc this is bad. Losing a peak body whose focus is on housing means less ‘eyes on’ the dire straits of housing, and orgs being siloed + unhoused folks losing another potential avenue of advocacy
