He wasn’t “completely loyal” because he waved his no-trade clause! He wanted out. I want players who want to be here. It is a betrayal on his part. This is why I’m personally okay with the trade.

Mets fan here to say that this is a great trade regardless of who they got for Nimmo just because they got rid of his contract. Even if they have to pay some of it, it's been clear that Nimmo was going to be an albatross hanging around the Mets' neck very soon. If Semien plays good defense? Bonus!

I used to have an O-Pee-Chee card from the ‘80s (I forget which year) that had his nickname, “Mr. Clutch,” printed on the front, and I thought to myself, “why doesn’t Topps do cool graphics like that?”
