I’m excited to see how the rest of the offseason unfolds after yesterday’s trade! Let’s go, Mets! #LGM #MetsSky

Another Dwight Gooden from the Bowman pack. 4/4 #MetsSky #CardSky

Two Blue Jays all-stars plus the Doctor from the rack pack, plus also two cards with almost the exact same pose and a card of Chris Brown wearing brown with his name printed on a brown background that makes my neurospicyness so happy! 3/? #MetsSky #CardSky

Four Hall of Famers in the 1988 wax pack! Plus an intact piece of gum (the one in the Bowman pack had started molding) 2/? #CardSky

I’m really missing baseball, so I impulse bought a package of random packs from the 1980s/1990s. 1/? #CardSky

A few weeks later and I'm still mad about this Hall of Fame ballot 😆😭 Here's one more head-to-head of a more-deserving player getting left off: Dwight Gooden (let's go, Mets!) had a better career than Fernando Valenzuela. Neither is a HOFer in my book, but still. #LGM #MetsSky

I’m not a fan of the 2025 Topps design so I hadn’t bought any, but after a lot of hemming and hawing I decided to buy a Mets team set, and it’s fascinating that Topps chose to use the NYM abbreviation (blech) for the horizontal cards and Mets for the vertical ones. #CardSky #MetsSky

I have two poems in the new issue of Kingfisher, which has a lovely cover.

How is Mattingly on the ballot and Keith Hernandez isn't. (Unless Hernandez is considered pre-1980--he could go either way--but he wasn't on that ballot last year.)

Re: first basemen, Keith Hernandez (who somehow isn't even on the ballot???) has to get in before Mattingly.

How the hell is Don Mattingly on the Contemporary Baseball Era Hall of Fame ballot and Keith Hernandez is not? Hernandez was clearly the better player. An 18 WAR difference, plus Hernandez got the most important hit in game 7 of the World Series TWICE! www.mlb.com/news/contemp... #LGM #LFGM #MetsSky

I just acquired this copy of the first edition of Kenneth Yasuda’s A Pepper-Pod, a classic early text of English-language #haiku, and I have immediately fallen in love with it as an object, wondering about all of the people who have read it before me. It comes from a hospital in Framingham, MA.

I just now got a chance to unbox the David Wright bobblehead that I got at Sunday’s Mets game and… it has three arms! The right arms have magnets in them so you can choose to have him holding his two Gold Gloves (to go with his two Silver Sluggers) or a baseball.

Forty years ago today my father took me to my first Mets game. They beat Atlanta 16-4 and I’ve been a fan ever since! I’m happy to be able to celebrate the anniversary at the ballpark with family and friends 💙🧡💙🧡

I got my contributor’s copy of this monumental (in all senses of the word) anthology of Mennonite literary criticism from 1869-present in the mail today. It’s 700 pages, only 400 less than the Martyrs Mirror!😆 But for real, it’s a breathtaking piece of scholarly labor that I’m proud to be a part of.

A fun time at Citi Field tonight! Good solid win by the Mets. Lindor had three RBI on his jersey night 🇵🇷 #LGM #LFGM #MetsSky

A great job by the Mets to win the season series against the Dodgers last night! Also, I love funky box score lines like Juan Soto’s: I’ll take 0 for 1 with three walks and a ribbie any day 👀 #LGM #LFGM #MetsSky
