What a night working radar/warning ops for NWS Norman during their AWIPS upgrade ⛈️ I ended up issuing 17 svr tstorm warnings and 5 tornado warnings across Oklahoma 😮 Quite a fascinating supercell/QLCS event. Sorry to my Norman friends for setting off the sirens/phones and waking you up 🫤

Unfortunately my house was damaged by the morning QLCS in DFW yesterday - estimating around 75 mph winds per the damage, radar and nearby obs (78 mph at DAL) 😢

It may be Texas, but we’re getting lake effect snow this morning! 🥶 You can see the banding off Eagle Mountain Lake, Grapevine Lake, and Lewisville Lake really well on radar. Have a light dusting at my house ❄️ #txwx

Last night was my 4th significant weather event @nwsfortworth since I started a month ago, with 2 to 8” of rain causing widespread flash flooding in and around DFW. Although there were numerous roads flooded and many water rescues overnight, thankfully there were no reported injuries or deaths ❤️
