While Critical Role brought a huge audience to Dungeons and Dragons, I'll always be bummed they also made it performative.
I hear folks afraid to try, worried they wouldn't be "good at it."

The one but of erotica I wrote is more porn than story. It is a the part series based on an actual party, but ramped up in the fiction. Maybe if I wrote about a trip to a several day swinger event I could draw on experience, but still make something more story like.

One thing I'll say is that this format of 8 episodes every 18 months for television series really destroys any sort of vibe that you have with a show. There are so many shows that I just have not picked up again when new seasons are released.
