It’s wild that the word “AI” can be slapped on to literally anything these days. Even a standing desk.

Interesting, Codex has a personality now? I don't think I've had agentic tools "hey ask" me clarifications before.

TFW for a moment you can't tell which one is the code editor and which one is the web browser

Just finished updating the contents of personalfinancespython.com to use Beancount 3, and the git diff is sitting at over 10,000 changes 😅

LinkedIn and I have a *very* different definition of the phrase “Great news”.

The first four chapters have been updated and so far it's been smooth sailing. It's fun to revisit something you wrote four years ago, and bring it up to date.

The sky was clear last night, which meant perfect moon-watching conditions.

Buying the telescope was a very good idea.

Google Search Console is now flagging 5xx errors as well. And this is on a *static* site.

I wonder if it’s time to move away from Netlify for hosting static sites.

One of the best parts of living away from the city is the incredible night sky. 🌌

On clear nights, you can see thousands of stars, the Milky Way, planets like Jupiter and Saturn, and even small satellites!

This photo isn’t the best quality, but you can still spot Jupiter (at the top!) and Orion.

I imported my November transactions into my Beancount-backed ledger yesterday and realized that this thing now holds data all the way back to January 2016!

That's 8 years worth of personal financial history contained in ~40,000 lines of plaintext files, fully human-readable and SQL-queryable. 🎉

The first half-marathon is officially in the books! 🏃🏻‍♂️

The weather was freezing cold but that made the mountains look all the more crisp. 🏔️

Next up: working on shaving minutes off that 21km time!

It’s unfortunate to see Honeypot — a reverse job platform primarily in Europe — shut down.

COVID and the economic pressures in Germany appear to have taken their toll.

Nice and steady Sunday morning run 🏃🏻‍♂️

The weather was quite foggy when I started out, but halfway through, the sun broke out, casting a beautiful glow over the Alps — making for a great run with an incredible view. ☀️🏔️

After this morning's run, the couch is officially my home base for the rest of the day.

I did expect speedups when moving from poetry to uv but this is honestly game changing. 😅
November 1, 2024 at 9:22 AM
`poetry lock` has been running for more than 10 minutes now, which means it's probably time to (finally!) look into uv.

I finally unleashed Redact.dev on my Twitter/X account (should've done this a long time ago).

Good thing is that it deleted most of my Twitter/X content.

What's weird though is that it then prompted me to tweet about it on Twitter. 🤷🏻‍♂️
