It’s wild that the word “AI” can be slapped on to literally anything these days. Even a standing desk.

Building a CV builder
A few weeks ago I started playing around with a CV builder for software developers, using plaintext, JSON Resume, Git, and first-class developer support. In this post I describe the what, the how, and...

My OpenAI credit balance is about to run out, so I'm thinking whether to top up or switch over to Haiku 4.5.
If you've used both Haiku 4.5 and GPT-5 Codex, I'd love to hear how they compare with one another!

TIL about disco.cloud. Has anyone else tried it out? I’m curious how it compares with eg. Kamal.

Disco - Self-hosting that doesn't feel like self-hosting
Disco is an open-source PaaS that turns any Linux server into a deployment platform. Get the git push workflow you love, without the per-app markup.

Interesting, Codex has a personality now? I don't think I've had agentic tools "hey ask" me clarifications before.

Officially a marathoner! Munich hosted such a high-energy event for my first 42km today! 10/10, would run again (after I can walk normally).

Wow, compile times in Rust are really long.
Building my first production Rust codebase this week! 🦀
I found the perfect spot for it in a side-project that I’d like to launch in the next few days. Letting Claude write everything would be a lot quicker but then I won’t get to learn anything.

How about a reality TV show where PMs need to dismiss popups, banners, etc. to get to the actual page content as quickly as possible?

I'm using Jira (voluntarily) for side projects, and somehow, I don't hate it. Honestly, I don't know why.

Namecheap sent me a domain renewal reminder, which at this point my head automatically translates to "move it to Cloudflare since it'll be half the price".

Zen (@zen-browser.app) is such a good browser.
I've spent so much time over the past months looking for the ability to have workspaces with isolated sessions, and it turns out that Zen is the only browser that gets the UX *right*. That feature alone made me instantly switch from Firefox.

I'm low-key thinking about moving my personal site out of Netlify to a VPS (behind nginx or something).
Netlify build broke for some weird reason and it feels like a waste of time to debug vendor-specific issues. I'd much rather just scp a bunch of static files to a VPS and call it a day.

I've been building something new in my spare time and chose to maximize on simplicity.
No APIs, no frontend/backend split, no cloud, next to no JavaScript. Just a Django app rendering all the HTML on the server running on a VPS in Hetzner deployed using Kamal.
It's glorious.

Looking to deploy a Django app on a VPS, and Kamal and Dokku stand out as the main options.
I've used Kamal in the past, but spent the entire evening yesterday working around rbenv/rbenv-gemset hassles (Kamal requires a working Ruby installation 🤷🏻♂️).
I think I'll just go with Dokku at this point.

This matches my own experience with LLMs. They’re a very useful tool to have in the toolbox but the hype feels disproportional.

Where's the Shovelware? Why AI Coding Claims Don't Add Up
78% of developers claim AI makes them more productive. 14% say it's a 10x improvement. So where's the flood of new software? Turns out those productivity claims are bullshit.
