It's a complex issue for sure and I'm not meaning to invalidate anyone's perspective - I know character design is important, but I just wish that the wider conversation around female protagonists was less about their appearance and more about their abilities, characteristics, story and gameplay. 🤷🏻♀️

It's kinda sad that whether positive or negative, we somehow always end up with how attractive people think a female protagonist is dominating online discourse when a new game is announced.

Okay, so last point about this since it's out there:
Someone said that the swimsuit thing shows how women are diverse in their appearances. I would argue against that.
I WANT diverse female characters. I want fat women, women of color, queer and disabled women. I want the full spectrum of women.

It breaks my heart to see them hit by careless drivers in a hurry. If you drive, please be aware of your speed and look out for innocent creatures that are just trying to live and don't understand the dangers.

Also, if you see an animal that's been hit, I encourage you to check and see if it might still be alive. Often they are and are suffering alone, and there are countless organizations and local groups on social media that could save their lives.
You can't save all of them, but even one is enough! 🦝

In the past few years, I was able to save a bat with a torn wing (pictured below), a pigeon, and others. An injured mouse died in my care, but I was able to make her comfortable and pet her so she didn't feel alone in her last moments. Sometimes that's also enough. Don't let them suffer alone. 🐭

I remember picking one two tailed fox at 5 and sticking with him for the rest of my life (even after a 10 year hiatus). 🤪 😂
