"The problem is absentee land ownership, and it doesn’t matter if those owners are from China or Chicago, Rio or St. Louis — what we all need is people. People to live here and to care for the land, to raise animals and crops and kids, and to be a part of a community."

Any political “leader” still selling the obviously false choice between #ClimateAction and “the economy” is just reminding us that they clearly don’t understand either the climate crisis OR the economy.

Or they’re cynically hope that WE don’t understand the difference.

Or both.

Gosh, Josh, this was a DELIGHT to read. I laughed (on billionaires: "So put up or shut up...or put up and shut up. You're fine. You'll never not be fine.") & I got misty-eyed (on losing 💙ed ones to MAGA: "You are not required to build a bridge to a place you don't want to go in the first place.") 👏🏻
In this week's newsletter I wrote about losing a parent (to bad politics) and good tv shows and the billionaires who pretend they're going to leave a city if their taxes go up by an amount that will never make their lives worse.

Chat, is cancer research woke? The Trump administration seems to think so, having erased hundreds of millions of dollars being used for cancer research in a move that seems to be part of its anti-DEI, anti-trans, and anti-vaccine agendas.
