Grown up version of the annoying child who asks “why?” over and over again.
Can we all finally agree that running the country is not the same as running a company?

Texas, their cheating, gerrymandering tactics only work if you vote the way they expect you to. The most patriotic thing you can do right now is swear loyalty to no one, and vote for the person who shows honesty and integrity through actions, not just words.
So. Rep Crockett announced her TX campaign for US Senate.

Good.

Voters get a choice in the primary. They can research the candidates, find their positions on issues and choose.

She's getting ultra-gerrymandered out of her Rep seat, so why not take the shot.

It's a primary. Not a coliseum fight.

The US has a huge political problem and its not Trump, its the weak politicians who'd rather back him and be enriched than uphold their oaths.

The "major questions doctrine" is just something Supreme Court Justices made up to give themselves more power whenever they feel like it. No basis in law granting the Supreme Court majority additional ability to undo an act of Congress they disagree with because Justices say this one's a big deal.

Rural communities are the canary in the coal mine. Pay attention America! Billionaire greed needs to be controlled if we want to survive.
Firewood Banks Aren’t Inspiring. They’re a Sign of Collapse.
Rural communities are banding together to chop firewood so that people in need can heat their homes. This shouldn’t be necessary.

We are dealing with such corruption in every aspect of our government, I don't know how we undo the damage.

Oligarchy (noun):

A government of and by a few at the top, who exercise power for their own benefit. Their power and wealth increase as they make laws that favor themselves, manipulate financial markets, and create monopolies that put more wealth into their pockets.

Yup.
Who agrees we should no longer take orders or direction of any kind from this illegitimate, disgusting, Supreme Court???

Reagan had Alzheimer’s symptoms while in office, Biden was forced to quit over worries about his mental health, & trump can’t control his rage. How do you justify giving the prez unchecked power when the old dudes we keep electing may have failing brains? Can’t wait to hear Alito’s nutty argument.

Trump is asking Scotus for unchecked power to purge “independent” regulators at will. If he wins, the FTC, FEC, FCC, NLRB all become partisan weapons he can bend to his will. This is a direct attack on the guardrails that keep presidents from ruling by decree.

In landmark case, Supreme Court to rule on Trump's bid to control independent agencies
In a landmark case, the Supreme Court will determine the future of independent government agencies such as the FTC and a president's power to remove leaders at will.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

There isn’t much for our Supreme Court to hear, the Constitution is already clear. And just to be absolutely clear: the Supreme Court does not have the power to overrule or rewrite our Constitution.

Republicans’ logic for things like gun control and vaccines seems to be “if it doesn’t stop/save 100% of the wackos/vaccinated, then no one should be protected.” We all just have to live with preventable deaths and disease.

I hope the bean counter who first proposed that tourist attractions could boost profits by charging for parking suffocates on all the excessive money corporations now get for providing no service or product at all.

Laws are needed when new tech and people’s actions become a danger to society. The car is a good example of how laws can evolve with the invention. Drunk driving and seat belt laws save lives. We now need the same protections for social media and AI. It’s time for the tech bros to be accountable.
The Republican-Russian Lie Machine is on a new kick spreading AI videos on YouTube of Michigan Port officials being arrested by DHS & ICE for drug smuggling.

At some point, websites hosting these dangerous lies need to be held accountable.

Internet mega-constellations aren’t just “more bars” on your phone, they’re bright scars across the sky. Telescope images are getting slashed with satellite trails, and we’re losing our clean window on the universe one streak at a time. #Science #Astronomy #Space
By 2040, ~40% of the images from Hubble Space Telescope, and more than 96% from new and future space telescopes like SPHEREx, ARRAKIHS, and Xuntian will be contaminated by internet satellite constellations.
