'Why don't we just move platform now?' I was asked in an advice meeting recently

There's a temptation to move to greener pastures especially if your community UX is suffering.

Important to first get direction, a plan, and a basic operating framework so you don't take those problems with you too

Full House episode 5 starts with a bang, or maybe a kepow

Physical violence runs in the family as grandma wields a paper fan like a bayonet

Apparently this is all the FLs fault because she's an orphan (a common trope)

Meanwhile he's holding a book titled Cool and wearing a waistcoat

A relatable dilemma
I'm with Toad
Frog knocked at Toad’s door. “Toad, wake up,” he cried. “Come out and see how wonderful the winter is!”

“I will not,” said Toad. “I am in my warm bed.”

Full House episode 4 is the gift that keeps on giving

She's learning to cycle in the kind of heels that supermodels have struggled with

Second FL may be getting paid by the word, as she made the shortest house visit I've ever seen, and is still sporting episode 3's beach halter

Back with reactions to classic drama Full House episode #kdramas

4 minutes in, and we have 1 fake engagement, 1 disappearing handbag, 3 garment throwing characters and...

Wait. Does he have a semi naked poster of himself on his bedroom wall?

Narcissist and obsessed with hygiene...

Manipulating social media feeds CAN rapidly result in a shift in user political views...

Study shows that X posts, including misinformation shared by Musk, increased political polarisation (affective polarisation) and damaged US public discourse.

Study finds that a week of political content can bring about a shift in views that previously would have taken three years

Electricians in. WiFi off, big light on, I'm perching at the living room table trying to finish a proposal and keep my sanity.

I've been offered a mince pie and I'm thinking of putting one in each ear. Effort seems very intense and involved, like the Obs/Gyn conversation in Resident Playbook

Honestly, it is possible to think 'I work hard to earn money; I deserve that money' and *also* 'it would be good if we created a more equal society: I'll help'. Exhausting to see everything presented as a fight to the death between those two ideas, seemingly forever.

I'm back for more Full House recaps #kdramas

The ML has the disgruntled energy of a speed awareness instructor who's lost his car keys

At first you don't realise the restaurant is playing Londonderry Air, due to the shaky camera work

He bought her a tropical kaftan. It's a bit Pretty Woman...

On my mission to complete classic older #kdramas so I started Full House last night.

What a bizarre premise. How young does the FL look in this drama? Why can't the ML find a shirt that buttons all the way up? Who leaves a shirt behind on a plane? How is she surviving with no budget?

This is also why communities need structure.

Because without a defined structure, an implicit order will manifest and it will be difficult to navigate...

"Contrary to what we would like to believe, there is no such thing as a structureless group."

(The Tyranny of Structurelessness is so GOOD)
A theory about vibes:

Human beings are deeply social creatures. Our need for a legible social order is rooted almost as deeply in our brainstem as our need for basic physical security. We need -- not want, need -- to understand who's in charge, who are allies, who are enemies, *how things work*.
