I wish the same. Instead we have influencers, grifters, and entrepreneurs constantly trying to sell us things.
I wish America still had such a thing as public intellectuals

If only our Supreme Court had this kind of integrity.

"Brazil’s Supreme Court upheld Monday former President Jair Bolsonaro’s incarceration after he admitted to trying to break his ankle monitor...to escape and avoid a 27-year prison sentence for leading a coup attempt."

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Given the harm caused by the pettiness and vindictiveness of this administration, can we please put to bed the idea that being petty and vindictive is commendable or admirable?

It just isn't.

I don't understand Mamdani taking that meeting with Agent Orange. What good could come of that? Twittler is just going to try to embarrass and belittle Mamdani. That's what he always does with those perceived to be his political opponent.

I don’t care if people dislike Meghan Markle; I don’t know her and am not protecting her.

My issue is how incredibly angry they get about her, practically frothing at the mouth.

Everything she says and does (which is usually quite bland and safe), they act as if she’s just insulted their child.

Behind this important reversal is a member of the Coast Guard who saw what was happening and had the courage to leak it to the press. That person deserves serious praise.

This is what criticism should be:
"Andrews makes sheepish mention of primatology and rests her tenuous case. I confess that I find her defiant inanity almost refreshing. At least she has the perverse merit of making it easy for her readers to discover where she stands — even if she stands in hell."
