Diversify incomes - Ad revenue from Google Adwords is a great starting point. But there is money to be made from affiliate income and sponsorship posts. Never rely on one income source!

Low competition keywords - Those first 50 articles were all based on low competition keywords. Despite them being "low competition", I still only ranked for a handful of them for a very long time.

Repeat The Process - Once I found a blog post that made money, then it was time to recreate it for similar types of content until I exhausted all content available. This allowed me to grow from hobby blog to a professional blog

Experiment - My first 50 blog posts were experiments looking at what kind of content I could rank for. Of those first 50, only 1 stood out that would bring in $100+ a month.

Optimize images - Slow blog posts with heavy 100KB+ images are bad, especially on shared hosting that most new blogs start out on. Consider using .webp and optimizing your images so they are below 30KB.
