Portland's Inclusionary Zoning program is working now that it is fully funded.

In the 2026 session I will introduce a bill to codify IZ programs to ensure Portland's continued success with building neighborhoods with homes for people of all ages, wages and stages of life. #orleg
Next on the agenda is an update on the City's Inclusionary Housing program and recent efforts to make the program work better for developers. Staff from the Portland Housing Bureau are here to explain the background of IH and how the program got adjusted after a 2024 study.

I'm so grateful for the courage and leadership from Oregon's Families for Safe Streets, who held an event for World Day of Remembrance this weekend.

Traffic fatalities are unacceptable and preventable. As a legislator I will continue to fight for funding for safer streets. #wdor #orleg

It was a joy to welcome Rep. Hoa Nguyen's family for a celebration of her life and legacy and recognize the many threads she wove into a life of service and advocacy for those who need a champion, now more than ever. Oregon is stronger because of Hoa's leadership, and she is deeply missed. #orleg

Trump’s billionaire tax cuts force states to take food, healthcare, education, childcare, and housing from children, families, seniors and people with disabilities. Oregon must transform our revenue system so this harm doesn't fall on the most vulnerable. #orleg #orpol

Portland is in Trump’s crosshairs because our commitment to inclusive democracy and economic justice is the biggest challenge to his authoritarian dreams.

Big thanks to @GovTinaKotek and @ORHumanServices who worked hard to be ready to access the November funds for Oregonians as soon as they became available after the federal court ruling. I urge Congressional Rs to negotiate with Dems to lower healthcare premiums & food costs.

Oregon has allocated $5 million to emergency food and we need so much more than that. SNAP is our collective commitment to care for one another and to fight hunger - and we demand our tax dollars are released to feed our neighbors. Food is not a weapon. Food is a human right. #orpol

I agree 100% with @Governor Kotek, “This is a cruel and unacceptable situation. President Trump should focus on feeding families by negotiating a deal with Congress, not doing other things like deploying troops in American cities on taxpayers’ dime.” #orleg #orpol

Thank you, Attorney General Rayfield.
We will urge the *full* Ninth Circuit to vacate today’s decision by a three-judge panel, before illegal Guard deployments can occur. A Ninth Circuit judge has already called for a vote on whether the case should be heard by the full court. Our team will file a brief encouraging the court to do so.

Transportation is what connects us to each other.

At a time of isolation and disconnection, state legislators must vow to roll up our sleeves and revisit this critical conversation about how Oregon can build a safer, healthier, cleaner transportation that literally brings all of us together. #orleg

It was shocking to learn this weekend that the President of the United States has unilaterally ordered the deployment of federal troops in Portland.

Let me be clear - nobody in Portland asked for this.

They are unwelcome, unneeded, and counterproductive to our efforts. #orleg

"We’re talking about substantially less money than many Oregonians spend a month on Netflix, all to ensure that we maintain the existing roads, bridges, buses, sidewalks, and highways that get us to work to school and to the doctor’s office. That’s it. That’s what we’re talking about here.” #orleg

Enjoying a beautiful fall day in Portland, Oregon. We won't fall for Trump’s efforts to silence opposition and turn the city we love into a place where people feel afraid to leave our homes. We'll continue to take care of each other and stay strong in our defense of our communities and our rights.
