One inflatable looked like a demented reptile in bright, sparkly primary colours; others were equally garish, a blue and yellow unicorn, a pink flamingo, and a huge red doughnut, hanging there like weird, oversized fruit. I've been using Word for decades. In my other non-writing life, I still train people how to use it, in fact... but I was today years old when I realised the Document Map feature is rather awesome when you're writing a novel.. 🤦

'The razor-sharp edge sliced through the soft skin on the woman’s shoulder, leaving a weeping, red groove. Anderson’s arms had taken most of the glass. They started bleeding quickly. Tiny flecks of blood – like a swarm of fire ants. The next shot took out the double glazing of the restaurant behind them, and that's when the screaming started.'

And with these (somewhat graphic) words, it brings my #wordcount to 60299 in the #novel, the most I have ever written. Including the 60134 I wrote of the unfinished novel while at uni 30 years ago (which I still miraculously have)

It might not make the edit, and this is so overwritten, but it made me smile as it sort of suits the heroine's character.

"Write what you know" is #writing #advice that irritates me. There's a lot of stuff I want characters doing that I don't know.
But I've realised not to take it literally. So👇 is writing what I know in a less literal way.

So, I copied and pasted the whole #novel to a new, non-novel formatted Word file to write the ending (I know saving as would be easier, but I'm special), and the novel is now called 👇

& I quite like it...🤪

About halfway through the #novel. I'm not sure if my current #chapter names will survive intact, to hopeful publication, but they are fun to think of.
