This obviously (I hope) is fairly foul line to be taking but a close read shows the problems & tensions at the heart of this fag-packet policy formulation
There is quite a difference b/w “illegal entry” (in breach of UK law) & illegal entrants who aren’t refugees

Another reason to celebrate the fact that as I near 60, retirement hoves into sight
That’s on a personal level
I’m not sure the UK HE sector will be in a recognisable shape in 2035
I fear for current colleagues, my own PGRs who want to enter, kids who want go, society which will benefit
