Things are settled with my dad for the nonce and I feel a little bit of peace as I take stock of everything that needs to be done (and there is a shit tonne) and found a little bit of space to go for a ride today.

guilty about wanting to go for a bike ride. I unplug when I ride in a way that I don't during any other activity other than sleeping or sex. It felt selfish to engage in something that didn't have me perched on the edge of my seat, at the ready.
But the sun was shining and the road called.

determined that the stroke has exacerbated his Alzheimer's that has been creeping up on him for years.
In some ways, I can't believe it's only been four weeks; it feels like forever. In other ways, I can't believe it's been four weeks already.
It's not that I haven't had free time, but I've felt

I've grown to appreciate outlining more as I've gotten older and lost the hubris of youth.

I feel this. After almost ten years of not finishing anything, I finished two things last year. I was ecstatic, but the level of effort and concentration felt Herculean.

and which should have seen him put in jail, I always come back to that moment when a presidential candidate talked about publicly killing someone without consequences.
I don't have any new insight or big conclusion to draw. I just find myself thinking about that moment a lot,

And the reaction always seems to be the same: can you believe he said that? Yes. Yes I can.
Followed quickly by: can you believe people are buying it? Yes. Yes I can.
In a decade plus of moments and statements and actions that should have been the end of his political career

That would be phenomenal.

Do you remember when the phrase "Binders full of women" was enough to make a presidential candidate out of touch? Ah, simpler times...
