For 52 years, I have been largely indifferent that soccer, as a sport, exists. (Except for UNC women's soccer, because they rule.) But my 15yo has suddenly and inexplicably become a huge Liverpool fan, and I now find myself wholly invested with him in the outcome of this match against Man Utd.

As an ACPS parent, I'm cautiously optimistic about the effort to get cell phones put away during the school day. I think enforcement is going to be a nightmare of inconsistency and whack-a-mole, but staying optimistic.

Fellow Alexandria cocktail friends, this is your fair warning: we are in the midst of a Chartreuse bonanza. After months of empty shelves, a number of ALX ABC stores have a bounty of both yellow *and* green(!) bottles right now. Restaurants are swooping in, so get thee hence to a store!

Love putting ingredients on hand into Google and finding a new cocktail recipe. Had Meyer lemons in the fridge, had used some drying rosemary to infuse some simple syrup - and there you go! Meyer lemon margaritas.

An early Father's Day brunch at Pastis. Just delicious. And I can heartily recommend the Eiffel Sour, especially since you have to go to Lynchburg to find the closest bottle of Green Chartreuse in VA. (I checked.)
