Was very nice to see Katie Kim and the first outing of By a Sky (Jonathan Nangle, Nathan Sherman, Garrett Sholdice) last night in Dublin. Visceral stuff from the lads, while Katie is a national treasure that should be protected at all costs…

Am very saddened to read of the passing of Jack DeJohnette. One of my favourite drummers of all time appearing on many of my favourite recordings… what a style, what a sound, and what a life in music…

Enjoyed reading this Mark Fell interview with Tone Glow. Particularly like the passages about UK polytechnics being centres of radical creativity (seems lost now), and about being in symbiosis with yer material. Lots of class music examples throughout too.

Very nice to welcome the incredible Michelle O Rourke to @ucddublin.bsky.social this afternoon for a lovely recital of early & contemporary music. Lovely new piece by Caterina Schembri & always a joy to hear the acrobatic ‘O Rourke’ by Andrew Hamilton
