Hallmark's Xbox 360 Christmas ornament. What do you think? I like the Sega Genesis better, but now I have an Xbox to keep it company under the tree!

Remember how a GUMMY BEAR BATTERY BANK came along and ultralight backpacking nerds were like, no really, this beats the carbon-fiber-clad Nitecore stuff we've been using?
You know I had to toy with it. The winner is...

I just pulled the Xbox Ally out of my bag. Very warm. Fans spinning. Wouldn't turn on with a short press or a long press. I put it to sleep 3.5 hours ago by pressing the power button.
Neither Microsoft nor Asus will tell me when they'll fix this, or even that there's anything to fix.

Today I've got something different for you! This is the "Xtra Muse" — and it seems to be DJI's first attempt to sneak its cameras past US tariffs and bans!
See for yourself: this is a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, inside and out.

The most powerful gaming handheld is NOT an Xbox Ally X, Lenovo Legion Go 2, or MSI Claw.
Today I'm toying with a prototype GPD Win 5 which utterly blows them out of the water... but, of course, at a huge cost.

And speaking of battery-backed cartridge savegames, Lego pays homage to that in an easter egg! The Link's Awakening cart has one; the Super Mario Land cart appropriately does not!

The moment I knew the Lego Game Boy was something special was when I saw they'd chosen this to display: the heartstring-tugging beach scene from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
So I took my time to get this photo right.

The Lego Game Boy is a brick masterpiece, and that's not based on a brief tradeshow hands-on. I bought it myself (early!), I built it, I compared it to a real vintage Game Boy.
Minor quibbles, but it's so fun to build.

Now that both Pixels and iPhones have magnets, here's my favorite new accessory.

Was completely ready to forgive Meta's Ray-Ban cooking AI demo fail until they tried to blame it on the Wi-Fi

Today I'm toying with Silksong on Android.
This is NOT streaming from my PS5 or PC or the cloud. This is NOT a hack. This is the Windows PC game, all 7.56GB of it, running locally on my phone — in a Windows game emulator so easy anyone can use it.

If you're not seeing RTX 5080 in your games (Ctrl+G or hold down Steam Deck's start button and turn on overlay to check), that might be because only a handful of games have it, or it might be because Nvidia prioritized CA, IL, NJ, Germany and France to start: status.geforcenow.com

It's a battery with 26-inch retractable USB-C cord.
It's a charger with flip-out AC prongs.
It looks amazing because it's inspired by Dieter Rams' iconic Braun Audio turntable.
Just not the most pocketable!

Finally — FINALLY — Android has a flagship phone with a built-in magnetic mounting system just like (and compatible with) Apple's MagSafe. No more cases required for frictionless car docking or stands or rings, and say hello to true Qi2 charging! www.theverge.com/news/762426/...

Today I'm toying with Antigravity. It's the first drone that lets you fly before you film — because it's recording in every direction simultaneously.
