I'm told that the endangerment finding repeal package lands next week. I look at what that could mean for other climate rules, state action, and the future of U.S. climate policy.

And on Signal at jchemnick.01, for any tips on when, where, etc.!

Here’s what could happen when the endangerment finding dies
States, courts and Congress could be forced to fill the climate policy vacuum.

ln the best tradition of the Friday afternoon news dump, #EPA has put out announcements on #coalash and #dicamba regs. Anything else coming or can we call it a day?

After plowing through briefs in litigation over the Clean Air Act's New Source Review program, I get the sense that NSR is a lot like the federal tax code: Important, complicated and increasingly porous.

Noting that it's now been more than a year since #Trump administration appointees effectively dissolved two influential #EPA advisory panels: The Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee and the Science Advisory Board. Neither has been reconstituted: subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...

After cutting jobs last year, the Justice Department's Environment and Natural Resources Division is seeking roughly 25 "experienced litigators." One reason, presumably, is to help defend against legal challenges to Trump administration policies.

The first time I'm seeing this during the shutdown

"Because of the lapse in appropriations, EPA may not be able to assign staff to respond to your request and EPA’s response may be delayed."

While President Trump is usually described as a populist, his appointees at #EPA have repeatedly skirted public notice and comment requirements. Here's the latest example: tinyurl.com/h2a99pkc

E&E News: EPA retreats on air pollution enforcement for Texas plant
In a rule issued without public feedback, the agency is withdrawing from a clampdown on one of the nation’s leading sources of sulfur dioxide.

For the fifth time in two months, #EPA is resorting to a once rare rulemaking gambit to avoid advance public notice and comment requirements:
