Go give Shrimp Game a wishlist on Steam. Go play the demo to see how you like it.
It's a lot of fun!

Well, Astor: Blade of the Monolith was...fine.

I enjoyed the overall game, just some pieces fell a little flat. I'd still recommend giving this game a play, just go in with tempered expectations.

A very good game with a nice take on the metroidvania genre. I really enjoyed the characters and pixel art. Relatively short and sweet, but still enjoyable and worth the play.

I would definitely recommend you play this game.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope has been great to play and the story has been very engaging. Some parts do show their age, but it's passable enough.

I would recommend this game, but only if you can adjust to older/clunky game design.

See below for more of my thoughts.

Sadly had to stop playing Valfaris cause it was getting on my nerves.

In terms of metroid-y, it was pretty good. Nice variety of weapons to customize how you play. Just some of the level design and randomness made it annoying.

Give it a try, but it's not for me

Sword of the Sea was such a delightful game to play. Very reminiscent of Journey, but it also shines on its own.

I highly recommend this game if you're looking for a chill game with incredible music and visuals.

Just finished playing Dungeons of Hinterberg and it was an incredible time. Loved the story, the gameplay, the art style, the mechanics. Everything!

Honestly, I cannot think of anything I disliked. I highly recommend giving this game a play.

Another short one, but definitely worth it.

Spilled! was a very feel-good game where you could enjoy taking your time.

It's another game I followed the dev time for a bit and am so glad it was released. Go follow @lente.me to see what else they're up to on their boat.

Just recently finished Digimon World Dawn and I surprisingly didn't remember a lot of the story from previously playing. Was plenty of fun and the grinding didn't feel all that grindy...until the end.

I'm now moving onto Sands of Destruction

I had my eyes on this for a bit while it was in development, so I'm happy to finally be playing Sands of Hope

Looks like I'll be playing Star Ocean: Last Hope next

I've played it once before, but I can't recall if I ever finished

I think the next game I'll be playing will be Sleeping Dogs.

Don't really know anything about this game, and I'm interested to see how it goes.

My last example is the Watcher Knights. This is where I first ran into this issue.

How the Watchers roll is random, on the ground forward and back, bouncing near or far.
I tried many times and just couldn't beat it. What solution ended up working? 1st nail upgrade...

Take the Zote fight for example.
There's no tells for his big drops. There's no time to jump over him when he rushes and flails his sword. Or his ducks afterward that make you miss and fall on him. He spits out adds that have inconsistent hitboxes.
It just doesn't feel fair.

Perfect example from my playthrough would be the Soul Master fight. Difficult, but over time I was able to read its moves and figured out what to do.

Even went to the Soul Tyrant fight right after and almost got through it with I think 1 nail upgrade.

The first game that comes to my mind is Final Fantasy 13.

I recall people loved hating on it for being a "hallway" game, which was kinda true but got unjustified hate.

I enjoyed it for what it was and understood it had flaws. My opinion then is the same now, try out games before judging them.

Seems fitting with all the teasing of Silksong that I finally pick up and play Hollow Knight for the first time.

Heard lots of good things, love me a metroidvania, looking forward to this.

With my PSP in limbo now, I'm moving back to my DS and starting Digimon World DS.

I've played Digimon World Dusk before, so I'm interested to see the differences.

This shall hold me over until Digimon Story Time Stranger comes out.

Been playing through Slave Zero X recently and so far it's been a wild ride.

The mechanics are relatively solid, but also I kinda wish I could do more. I'm a bit spoiled by the DMC games, but that's also a high bar to set.

So far my only gripe has been an inconsistency with enemies.

Recently finished Penny's Big Breakaway and it was overall pretty good

Beautiful design, excellent music, and loved the new take on platforming

A few snags with collision issues and some issues on my part with mechanics not quite clicking

But if you enjoy platformers, check this one out

Having been obsessed with the new Gundam G Eternal mobile game, it's given me heavy nostalgia of the Gundam Battle Royale game for the PSP that I used to play

It kinda fits too since all the audio in the mobile game is in Japanese and I have the JP version of the PSP game lol

It's been awhile, but I finally finished Phantasy Star Portable
Overall not too bad, felt like it pushed the limits of the PSP (3000) since I had plenty of slow down lol
Excellent choice if you're looking for a solo version of an mmo

Like they just pump resources at you to play the stories, build the mechs, etc.
The gacha just feels like a backseat to the real show.

And you too can build Big Zam

If you've been meaning to watch #Gundam and enjoy turn based combat, this mobile game is for you.
I've been absolutely obsessed since I picked it up, and it's been so refreshing with how minimally predatory it is.
The design feels like they just want you to play the game, and the gacha is a bonus.
