Personal account, mostly for talking about trans things.

She/her

Not a secret or private account, but I'd like to keep this separate from my pen names.
Are you kidding me? After chapter twenty's ending?

I'm gonna cheer angry.

(Way too into this cheerleader series.)

"I didn't design gender; I'm just victimized by it."

Right in the heart.

We got one!

(This is a message one of my boys in the basement book club.)

(Sadly, it's cropped in such a way to sound more like an egg crack than it is. Despite everything, they are all still just boys three books deep.)

To let the boys catch up on Dorley, I'm hopping over to other transfemme books. Going from Trans/Rad/Fem to Sexed Up to Whipping Girl is basically doing transfeminist reading backwards, but you know how library holds go.

On audiobook for my cat, who loves @juliaserano.bsky.social's voice.

Weirdly, I've been listening to a lot of pop songs where a girl doed a coyote yip! in the background, and so I got a headstart practicing my yips just in case yote girls were trending next!

Gonna go see if I pass or not on the trail today.

The Wikipedia page for mint (plant) is calling me out here.

Ah yes, Trans Awareness Month.

I'm trans! Beware.

Also, trying out thinner lines for today.

Okay, without eyeliner and with my very first attempt at eyeliner ever.

Please ignore my eyebrows. I got COVID the day before I was supposed to have them threaded and tinted.

(I do see how mascara and eyeshadow would synergize here for future attempts.)

I love all the pumpkins and skeletons decorating the neighborhood this year. It makes going for a walk feel a lot more festive.

Enemies of Dorley complete. Faye is still my favorite.

I'm going to take a break before the fourth book while the rest of the Basement Book Club catches up.

Funnily enough, my library hold on (kimmy) just came in =)

As always, thank you for the delightful series, @badambulist.bsky.social

(Did you ever post your animated one, @pawsrpg.bsky.social? Now that they handle animatation a bit better on Bsky.)

Strong "Wait, did you think a sweatshop is where they make sweat pants??" energy from Aaron in tonight's Dorley reading.

I keep thinking of how YA protagonists felt inscrutable, almost saccharine to me as a trans egg. But 13 year old Vanyel in Magic's Pawn was the first time I related to someone, and how my gay friends glomped onto him like a life raft.

I think the "Everything Must Go" Dorley chapter is my Vanyel.

In addition the all of the trans and thriller bits, Dorley is a good match for my sense of humor when it wants to be funny. #DorleyPosting

I had the book on my phone's speaker while I was braiding my hair in the bathroom before going to the gym, and she tried to get through the door to meow at you.

You apparently have a very good voice for cats! Which is the highest compliment anyone can receive in this house.

My spouse always gets the Trans Broken Arm Syndrome docs, while I get the opposite version where a treatment will be "tolerated extremely well by men" so I get stuck with it... then have a terrible reaction, "like women do."

Currently reading : A Trans Man Walks into a Gay Bar by Harry Nichols.

I feel this. I really resonate with a sort of 95% girl, 5% fluid "demifluid girl" vibe, but any hint of this to a cis person and I get they/them'd and degendered from there on out, so I save it for discussions with other trans girls ONLY. That fluid is never he/him or they/them, just something feral

This is a first for me: my cat, who does not talk to people on TV or speaker phone, keeps meowing at the speaker playing @juliaserano.bsky.social reading the audiobook of Sexed Up in response to her pauses.

Does Serano sound like me, maybe? Is Serano friends with my cat and I just didn't know it?

I totally get this, but as a trans woman, it's an interesting contrast to how I see it for myself. Queer circles taught me it's okay to be a tomboy even if trans. And I don't feel like I've ever once had any real experience of maleness or masculinity even pre-transition. Trans experiences are vast.

For a lot of my transmasc friends, I remember them messaging me to talk about the first time this happened to them.

I'm still running the full 900k+ Dorley book club for confident cishet men, don't worry, but I'm also reading another book for a different friend group on the side: A Trans Man Walks Into A Gay Bar by Harry Nichols.

Starting out, it gives How to Fuck Like a Girl by Vera Blossom vibes, but for men.
