Yes, It’s Fascism
Until recently, I thought it a term best avoided. But now, the resemblances are too many and too strong to deny.

I was frankly pretty startled to see that this was real. (It's here: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...)

Matthew 19:14 is "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

John 11:35 is "Jesus wept."

I'm voting no on DHS funding.

Masked agents are operating in our streets and hurting people with zero accountability. It’s un-American.

If you’re upset and want to help, call your senators and representatives and tell them this chaos needs to stop.

This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.

These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

In “Letter From Birmingham Jail,” Martin Luther King Jr. outlined a strategy to expose the brutality of his opponents. Anti-ICE protesters in Minnesota are following his script—and it’s working, @galbeckerman.bsky.social argues:

For decades, much of the world accepted America as the head of the global order, despite the country’s flaws and errors, "because it did not act solely out of narrow self-interest—much less in the narrow, selfish interest of a single ruler. That era is over," Robert Kagan argues.
Every Nation for Itself
President Trump wants to return to the 19th century’s international order. He will leave America less prosperous—and the whole world less secure.

Some of the best movies ever made were by Rob Reiner. They made us laugh and think: The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men. And he was a force on screen as well in All in the Family and so many films.

What a tragic loss. Words fail with news like this.

Friday night, we learned that the DOJ lied about the door being closed to Costa Rica. Mr. Abrego's lawyers feel that's enough to immediately dismiss on vindictive and selective prosecution grounds.

Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
