Because I'll be heading off shortly for Baltimore and to take part in the 10th anniversary celebration of Submersive Productions, I did my due diligence and made sure I won't be Patient Zero for the event. And all seems copacetic. submersiveproductions.ticketspice.com/you-are-here...

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Chen Quifan and @alexjennings.bsky.social, two former Eating the Fantastic guests who've completed trips around the sun today! I invite you to celebrate by taking your seat at their tables as I chat and chew with them on Episodes 49 and 227. pod.link/1083737796

Not the morning view I expected. I’m glad — because of this afternoon’s trip to Baltimore — that dusting seems as if it will be the whole of it.

Another utterly ridiculous spam promotional email.

Completed my program participant survey for August's @laworldcon.bsky.social, where I hope I'll get to hang out with some of you. And so you'll be able to recognize me when we're there, here I am at my first Worldcon, which I attended in 1974 at the tender age of 19. Haven't changed a bit!

I will be forever grateful Michael Whelan allowed us to repurpose that evocative image on the cover to the first issue of Science Fiction Age magazine, which I'm finding difficult to accept launched a third of a century ago. I wish I was editing it still!

Which I recognized immediately as a detail from one of Sanjulián's famous Creepy covers!

Informed Delivery alerted me a UK package will, after many stops along the way, find its way into my hands today. I suspect these will be signature sheets for the limited hardcover edition of my collection 101 Things to Do Before You're Downloaded. Fingers crossed! pspublishing.co.uk/101-things-t...

Today in spam texts I shall not be answering.

I was there! Didn't see you, though.

Decluttering, I came across one of my Analog contracts offered by the previous ownership — one I signed without needing to ask for a single change — and considering my recent F&SF fiasco, I thought it worth sharing what the indemnification clause looked like. Note the absence of the word "alleged."

A Georgia judge just dismissed the charges against Donald Trump for his outrageous attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, but as we all know — and as the commemorative coin I own minted by Valery Jung Estabrook reminds us all — the man is guilty, guilty, guilty!

Wait, what? Noooooooo! Too soon, too soon!

Happy 72nd birthday to comics artist Pat Broderick, who collaborated with me to unmask Captain Marvel back in 1978 for the final issue of my run on that title. I wish we'd had more chances to work together, but alas, that was the only one. Hoping your day is fantastic!

My wife has commanded me not to buy either those pants or that jacket, and she will be obeyed.

I hope I didn't give the wrong impression as to which of the Marvel conventions I wrangled, but it was 1975, not 1976, as per this advertisement rather than that one. By the time the '76 one rolled around, I was already on my way to living the freelance life, and those duties went to someone else.

Happy 75th birthday to Chris Claremont, with whom I worked 50 years ago in the Marvel Bullpen, the only proof of which is this pic taken there during the mid-'70s. That's me, bearded and wild-haired in a Mickey Mouse hat, him kneeling, with his face obscured as he takes a photo of the photographer.

How did he not know you're only supposed to do that sort of thing on Thanksgiving?

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?
