Finally reading Takehiko Inoue’s Vagabond and really surprised by how inky a lot of these pages are.

One of these days, I’ll take all of these EC collections and read them in the order that the original issues actually came out.

And here’s where I realize that I’m part of the problem.

I’m at a point where I couldn’t care less about Batman (Absolute may be the exception here) so this reads like an exercise in comics by committee.

And still just don’t get Chip Zdarsky. We’d all be better without his or Miller’s stories.

Any week with a new Gilbert Hernandez book is a good week.

Trying to figure out how Ram V and Evan Cagle are going to wrap up The New Gods in 2 more issues.

Let’s start with the Deniz Camp books…

I’m getting anxious with his Marvel work. While the Ultimates has been good, I’m wishing that the story would just start progressing.

Assorted Crisis Events may be the best book of the year, a story about real people using the language of superheroes.

I wonder if they knew how iconic this moment be, would Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson have given Roy Batty’s dying monologue more than just one panel in the Blade Runner adaptation?

Feels like this whole sequence could have been 4 to 5 pages.

So this is a thing that exists. And it’s far more Kevin Smith than it is Archie.

More like Clerks 3.5.

That fourth page, showing Clark in the Daily Planet bullpen and the way that Quitely collapses time is the same way that Darrow collapses time in Shaolin Cowboy.

This isn’t a great example but it’s the only one I have at hand that really shows how Darrow’s characters move through space.

One thing I don’t think I would have ever thought before seeing the All Star Superman WIP #1 edition is just how much Frank Quitely reminds me of Geoff Darrow.

But Jeff, I want all of my icons to look like Space Ghost when he’s in invisible mode.

Great Keith Giffen mail day. This Legion run is foundational to my fandom and Dr. Fate is Giffen at his weirdest.
