After everything we've been through Scotland needs new hope not old divisions.

In the Covid inquiry report, we learned there was a small clique which dictated Scotland’s pandemic response.

There are no minutes whatsoever for the secretive meetings held by this clique, forever denying the public an understanding of the rationale behind key decisions.

Before politics I was a youth worker, and I worked with charities supporting unpaid carers.

Our unpaid carers do a vitally important job and without them our health service would collapse.

We need to give them more support so they can continue to care for the people they love.

Today on Trans Day of Remembrance we remember those who have lost their lives to transphobic violence, and reflect on how we as a society can end this loss of life.

Liberal Democrats will always stand up for the rights of everyone in the LGBT+ community.

Qualifying for the World Cup was an incredible achievement.

The government and councils now need to work together to give fans the best experience.

Huge fan parks could be set up and pubs could be given special dispensation to show matches in case they take place late at night.

Our plans to cut VAT on hospitality and energy bills for households would put £270 back into people’s pockets.

This would help to drive economic growth, restore our high streets and give the country a much-needed morale boost.

Scottish education just isn't what it used to be. We used to have one of the best education systems in the world, but under the SNP it is now just average.

Pupils, parents and teachers deserve better than a third decade of the SNP.

What an achievement last night was for Steve Clarke’s men and this generation of players.

Now that we've qualified for the World Cup, let’s push the boat out at home so we can make the most of every twist and turn, and fingers crossed a few more wondergoals.

While a lucky few head over the Atlantic, the appetite for watching Scotland’s games here is going to be off the scale.

Huge fan parks could be set up across the country, and pubs could be given special dispensation to show their matches in case they take place late at night.

I attended the protest outside of Rockstar North in Edinburgh this evening to stand in solidarity with the more than 30 workers across the UK, including a number of my constituents who have been sacked.

Just 8% of the £360m Fishing and Coastal Growth Fund is set to come to Scotland, despite 9% of the value of fish landed in the UK coming through Shetland ports alone.

We need to see the both the UK and Scottish Governments supporting our fishing and seafood sector.

Edinburgh University is facing financial trouble, and the UCU said as many as 1,800 jobs could be at risk.

Our universities are built on the hard work of their staff, and we lose them at our peril.

That's why I raised this issue with the Minister for Higher Education today.

Under the SNP it feels like every week at A&E is breaking a some kind of record for long waits.

We are now seeing the highest number of people waiting over 8 hours of the entire year.

We need to see serious action taken to support staff facing these pressure cooker conditions.

In many constituencies across Scotland, we are on the verge of winning against the SNP.

But wherever you are, every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on the second peach ballot will deliver change with fairness at its heart.
The Conservatives and Reform are in a race to the right.

Labour have wasted a huge opportunity on policies like the family farm tax and their jobs tax on businesses.

Meanwhile Liberal Democrats are winning again, with more councillors, a record number of MPs and more to come.

Care providers feel like they’re on their own.

The SNP wasted four years and £30 million on a bureaucratic takeover of social care that they ultimately had to ditch.

Meanwhile, the UK Labour Government only made things worse by clobbering providers with a cruel tax hike.

Winter typically brings the worst pressures at A&E, yet we have been seeing crisis level waiting times for months already.

The SNP Government's mismanagement of the health service has left A&E trapped in a state of permanent crisis.

Massive environmental tariffs are imposed on customers using UK-produced renewable electricity, but far less on imported carbon-fuel mains gas.

Because of this, many households in the Highlands, who are not on the gas grid, unfairly have to pay a lot more to heat their homes.

I've been very moved by this investigation.

Many people in Victorian mental health asylums died in exclusion and isolation and then were unceremoniously interred in the ground without marker.

We need a national memorial to recognise these people across Britain.

Since maternity services in Caithness were downgraded in 2016, mums have been forced to travel 100 miles to Inverness to give birth.

But last week the Scottish Parliament unanimously backed our amendment calling for an independent review of maternity services in Caithness.

This morning I had the opportunity to speak on a panel at the RCN Activists Conference.

It is clear NHS staff are working under immense pressure right now.

That's why I want to see more investment in social care to help people leave hospital on time and reduce pressures.

When John Swinney was Education Secretary, the SNP made a manifesto commitment to cut teachers’ class contact time.

But it hasn't happened, and teachers are so angry about it that they could go on strike.

Why has the SNP not delivered their manifesto commitment to our teachers?

Scots are paying more and more tax but that is not translating into more money for public services.

Scotland deserves better, that's why we want a step change in how public money is spent, investing responsibly in public services and growing our economy for generations to come.

Scotland’s drug deaths crisis is a national tragedy, which is why my party have long called for radical action to stop people dying.

One measure I would like to see is for naloxone kits to be located like defibrillators in communities across Scotland to tackle overdoses.
