Ape who loves good science and good beer.
Incorrect glassware rarely bothers me (except for Kwak, but that's tradition), but who's serving a 5 oz red for $8 other than maybe a professional sports arena? It had better be exceptional.

It's OK to name names.

It's OK. $50 for the bomber. Definitely not worth it. Not as boozy as I was afraid it would be (that's a positive), the vanilla is barely there, and there's a bit of a sour aftertaste.

The coconut rum variant at room temperature is much better.

Started slow and they just turned it on. Wow.

The last book I read by @edzard.bsky.social was Hitler's Female Physicians.

I can't say I "enjoyed" it. It was disturbing.

I was expecting a few stories, but it's more like an encyclopedia. There were SO many.

It's an excellent lesson about how a few evil people can pull many to the dark side.

I'll have to put that one on my list.

I actually give the first third of Snake Oil Science as required reading for finance students. It's a great tool for learning how to critically assess what they are reading and how to avoid making post hoc ergo propter hoc mistakes.

Or the same case shows up over and over when people read something on social media and make file their own report.

Is that a brick tank? I'm going to assume it's lined, but that's cool. Do you have more pictures of it?

This one is more interesting.

I'm just ecstatic that I can find it occasionally here in Michigan, even without the 20% discount.

Beer for Lounging is a perfect pairing for turkey.

(And you don't make anything with a high enough ABV to deal with my in laws.)

Good beer in excellent glassware.

"Don’t worry, none of this is to the point and it will not be in the final exam, but it does provide a rare example of the “argumentum ad cross-section-through-an-M&M”"

Chimps are not monkeys (yes, I know, I know).

Use of chimps in medical research has dropped significantly over the past decade and the NIH has some fairly strict rules covering the use of chimps.

That being said, I agree with your point.

Mom: There’s no such thing as a stupid question.

Me: Have you seen this post from The Atlantic?

Mom: I stand corrected.

Mom: (as she takes another shot of vodka) What the actual fuck?

BBCMS 2020-C6.
One of the loans in the Trinity Multifamily Portfolio.
Other properties in the portfolio are in foreclosure.

Loan on the property has been an issue for a long time. Process for receivership started over a year ago. Borrower couldn’t get insurance over a year ago. Force placed by lender. DSCR for the loan was under 0.40 as of June 30. Occupancy data have not been available since before 2023.

Ah. The 70s. I remember my mom taking us to the farm to get raw milk because it was "healthier." Some things never change. Thanks for the diarrhea mom.

I have two 24 lb Butterball's thawing.

(I do have a fond memory of hunting cicadas with the farmer's kids when the Illinois brood was out.)

The mites have time to safely multiply under the fitted blankets when you're gone so there are more to remove parasites from your body when you sleep.

It's either that or your body just misses its usual bed.

I created my own Board so I could certify myself in lots of things.

I learned this from Rand Paul.

This definitely not AI.

I was struggling to figure it out.

Jag mouth?
Jesus maga?
Juvenile meathead?
Jackass muttonhead?
Jockstrap mold?

The link to the story was blocked so I can't see the columnist's name. Who was the whiter on the story?

I had a friend leave Illinois. Even after offshoring their medical insurance as a group, it became too much. Indiana's medical community right on the Chicago border is expansive, due to both liability caps and a lack of regulations. It's cheaper, but it also attracts the dregs of the industry.

I'll also note that some people came here, but that same lack of attention from the rage baiters made their reason for existence on social media disappear and they went back to the other place.

I'm actually very OK with that.
