Part of our say-goodbye-to-the-library party today featured collage button making with old withdrawn books. There was a “Penguins of the world” book so I had fun. Then someone saw I liked penguins and made me another one. (Excuse my dry ass hands)

I’m not a buy buy buy person. The fewer things I have the better. But I did get that exact duck light, and it was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It brings me joy.

Not the calf or mom (I didn’t want to stress them by stopping), but this other younger cow was fun. The cattle on the ranches are a bit more skittish than those that graze in the parks. They don’t see as many people. It was startled to see me, but got over me quickly. As always, kept my distance.

A student did see that was was (rightfully) concerned about books being destructed. We explained to her the process and it made her feel better. But we decided to change the word on the signage to not be so violent. I just saw the new label. It took me a minute.
