Was wondering about that interesting-looking round stamp (facing the title page, see ~ 0:03 in the video) for a moment -- but as it turns out it simply belongs to the RAS. Makes sense. 🤓

Was wondering about that interesting-looking round stamp (facing the title page, see ~ 0:03 in the video) for a moment -- but as it turns out it simply belongs to the RAS. Makes sense. 🤓

My first exposure to these aviform 🐦 Armenian letters was through this splendid plate in Andreas Müller's Alphabeta ac notae (published in 1703, but with a lot of material that probably dates from the 1680s). 🤓

If it's possible to abbreviate 飜譯 as 飜睪, dropping one half of the 2nd character, you can of course do this to the 1st character as well, here (even twice) with 番 for 飜. 2/
