I’m practicing memorizing Alfred Lord Tennyson’s Ulysses from the bottom up. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

— that which we are, we are:

One equal temper of heroic hearts

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

To strive, to seek, to find, but not to yield.

The difference between Actual Play and let's call it "improvised audio drama" is that the 20-minute lockpicking challenge in the former can only be tolerably 3 minutes or so in the latter.

Discipline and agility feel less like big ideals and more like survival traits. Not dramatic. Just the steady habits that keep you moving cleanly when everything around you gets unpredictable.

This is good news from @patreon.com. The lack of this feature was the main reason I wasn't just hosting my podcasts straight from there. #audiodrama

Them: "Oh, are you ducking out? You weren't going to say goodbye?"

Me: "DO YOU NOT HEAR THE CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT?"
Once again I am asking you to respect the Vampire Goodbye

I don’t think imagination is wild. Mine isn’t. It’s quiet. More like a tuning fork. I don’t invent much. Something hums, and I recognize it. That’s it.

Material artefact annihilation doesn’t equal meaning’s annihilation: systems of meaning migrate, mutate, and persist outside the visible archive.

🚬 Making a point with your writing feels like the least poetic thing a writer could possibly do.

You don't have an infinite amount of free time in your day, and cramming long-form art is a disservice to self. You need to find time to read without speed reading. Slow down. No reason to keep rushing around. You're dying - like me. Smell the roses, read slow, stare at a painting.

Excellence once meant mastering craft. Now we master platforms that can master us — and the arena gets bigger, darker.

It isn't much, but I'm venturing into exclusive audio dramas for folks who help me make my several public shows.

The sword Wærgwengléom is stolen from the kindlinger abbey, where the friar Cynwerd foments treason.
