I've indeed noticed that IPAs can often reveal themselves a little more as they warm up.

So what makes something a "cold IPA"?

It's interesting that it gets better as it warms up 😃

I guess down here we don't grasp how popular they are up there. They take up a tiny proportion of shelf space, but at least we see them. You probably wouldn't like Flying Monkeys a whole lot either because they are also quite heavy (11+% ABV) and have wacky flavorings. (Plus they're expensive)

You don't like La Fin du Monde??

OK, I keep hearing about this but have never tried it - gotta keep my eyes open

I'd drink more Canadian beer if I saw it, and you'd think we would in Boston. I do like Unibroue from Quebec and Flying Monkeys from Ontario, and those I can find here.

Guess I better put that on my list then! I know I can find it around here.

I really, really wish we had Vault City in the US

Ohhh, I like Bissell Brothers. That's one I have seen but not yet tried from them.

A sour that's 8.2% - hmmm, interesting

Gotta love the color of that beer!

Juniper - love that idea!
December 12, 2025 at 2:27 AM
I've seen it here, but very rarely.

Black currant leaves? Gotta say I have never encountered that. Do they add a good dimension to it?
