One of the things about this dynamic that frustrates me is that there is a hunger for genuine and rigorous criticism from people, but engagement systems manipulate and poison that desire. These systems tend to homogenize opinion rather than generate discussion. It’s very frustrating.

Prior to Monster Hunter Rise all of the PCs and NPCs were nameless. They only had titles. Your character would receive titles after completing certain progression levels, and NPCs would refer to your character by those titles. This set of Secret Lairs is focused primarily on those games.

I think it’s unfortunate that I shared a joke that was apparently lifted from the Onion rather than the Onion headline. That said, it’s also horrifying that the plausibility of the headline totally caught me and I missed the parody.
