I teach in an Adult Education program. I am a very liberal individual in an extremely conservative area.

None of my posts etc.. on any account represent views, opinions, or endorsement by my employer.

My views expressed are mine alone.
For my roosters there are four levels of response to attacking me.
Level 1 is the walk of shame.
This is Spot being carried around as I do chores since he attacked me today. The dreaded walk of shame.

The warmth of the day met with a chill creating perfect conditions for a localized inversion. That isn't fog, it's hickory wood smoke.

Made 2 gallons of roasted corn and smoked salmon chowder today. My birds loved the Salmon skins.

In French cooking it's normal to make a roux at different stages of cooking. Once I jokingly asked a saucier what he called the half cooked one. Raw butter and flour is a "berr." He said "berRRR." We laughed and moved on. As I am making homemade country gravy I keep repeating it Chewbacca style.

My neighbor and his wife have been traveling so I made them gluten free chicken fried pork cutlets.

My dog having been scared outside ran into the house and sat on my lunch. She was annoyed I dared to move her off of my lunch.

My first year's harvest. I haven't had a crop that big since then. We also had 20 x 80 foot corn that did well. That wouldn't keep my family fed. We harvested them because it froze outside. That was Oct 15th.

This is what you see when looking up the school lunch contingency plan on USDA.gov. Nice to know there is no contingency plan. My wife and I might be baking on weekends to feed her students. Hungry kids don't learn.

This is going to hurt. No food stamps for the state of Utah starting November 1st. Just in time for Thanksgiving.

I just realized the recipe didn't make it to my post the other day.

A glaze I enjoy using for chicken:
Cilantro jalapeno lime glaze

I love to get the char flavor and grill marks then finish it in the oven.
The glaze is a pain to clean off of a grill and the chicken cooks more evenly in the oven.

I was looking up foot, hand, and mouth disease due to a local outbreak. This is what I found.

To my mind this situation is indicative of untallied losses. I normally plan to cycle my flock next February as my hens are 3 years old. Normally I would give them away free with wood and wire to someone wanting to start backyard chickens. I normally would order more chicks.

$40 worth of groceries. Trump has really lowered the cost of living.

Trump is president, when exactly will gas be $2 a gallon? My regular text to my Maga coworker.

I just got my Maga coworker really upset. I gave him this quote without context and asked what he thinks it refers to. He said "obviously it's about immigration." I replied "now, you can understand why we lefties call ICE Gestapo. You made the same connection as I did."

More pics of food. I cook during the weekends to make the week easier. If you want to do this remember to start small.
Try making mashed potatoes.
20 mins instant pot with 1 quart water or boil until tender. Drain and add one stick of butter and about half a cup of cream. Season to taste.

Busy weekend cooking. I made kc bbq and Texas BBQ sauce. Green enchilada sauce, chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, Dutch oven chicken, potatoes, green beans and cobbler.

To* When we made these at the fancy pants resort we covered them with all kinds of creams and sauces. We made them look amazing because the fry bread, while not the most beautiful, has amazing texture and flavor.

Two Commander. The chef who I saw put cornmeal into fry bread and made something miraculous back when I had hair.

Bluebird flour for incredible Navajo Tacos.

Gas... still not $2 a gallon. My text to my Maga coworker.

Planted scarlet runner beans for the first time this year. They attract hummingbirds on top of being beautiful. I'll be saving as many beans to plant as I can for next year.
