The ruling class is powerful but they have to act within the constraints of what regular people tolerate. So if people are raging at town halls, protesting, and overall not giving "rulers" a moment's peace, that dramatically changes the options they have available to them.

One thing I will say about political predictions is they are not self-executing.

The only reason we are where we are is because of how many people have been showing up and demanding the ruling class act better this year. If people don't rise up, then the status quo remains.

Interestingly, I feel as though I have a far more pragmatic and restrained view of the situation.

We aren't short four votes, that implies that four GOP members are all that is needed. The last roll call vote on this showed we are short over 100.
