@beyondtellerrand.bsky.social since there are so.many D&D falls at #btconf I have to ask you the question where can I still get this D&D starter set as a present for a young boy (in German)? Seems to be out of stock everywhere 🙁

Liege ich richtig damit, dass die Arbeitgeber, welche Einschnitte von den GKV verlangen, dieselben sind, die laufend Mitarbeiter – und damit Beitragszahler – durch Outshoring, Roboter und KI ersetzen?

@therealnooshu.bsky.social Hey Matt, I read between the lines that you might be at perfnow and I kept my eyes peeled for you, but haven't been able to spot you. Is it correct that I will find you around the "Brits pack", being Andy, Harry and Ryan? Then I'll come by and say hi!

@marcysutton.com Great talk!! 👏🫶🚀

As we had the topic of skip links: would you support the idea of also putting in skip links into your page for skipping content blocks in reverse direction for folks that tabbed too far or wanted to peak behind a block and decide they wanna go back up? #perfnow

@tammyeverts.com weird that too fast does lead to lower conversion rates. #perfnow

There’s a new type of CSS scroll-state query coming: “scrolled”.

This one remembers the last direction you scrolled into, which you can use to build “hidey bars”: when scrolling down (or having scrolled down), the hidey bar hides itself. When then scrolling back up, the hidey bar reveals itself.

Less than a month away - every #FFConf ticket comes with a free bucket of pure unadulterated inspiration, but caution: side effects of buzzing head have been known.

(Plus, prices switch to late bird in a few weeks - spread the word!)

I often see the word 'kerning' used incorrectly by CSS heads when the term they're actually looking for to describe letter spacing is 'tracking'. Let me explain using CSS terminology!

Tracking is the same as gap in flex layouts; consistent spacing applied across the entire text.

I dug into progressive image rendering and found a bunch of common assumptions aren't quite true.

➡️ JPEG & WebP progressive-renders worse in Safari
➡️ AVIF _does_ support progressive
➡️ But JPEG XL in Safari doesn't
➡️ JPEG XL decodes much slower than AVIF

@kevinpowell.co @henrihelvetica.bsky.social listened to your discussion / musings yesterday on meetups and conferences. I agree with your diagnosis! And would like to add that meetups also fail because people are not sitting in the office anymore which used to make swinging by at a meetup easy.
