sure, but what about the dropshadow from the top level menu - like that's the thing that's uspposed to sit front most (that's to say, it's all a bit of a mess)

Wow Apple. Good work on the attention to detail… not.

A close up of the corners and top of apps. It looks like there's 3 visible windows with different types of corners with the menu bar at the top floating above them all with a shadow.

So visually bad.

I didn't realise I was jumping two versions too 🤦

Installed whatever the latest macos is called, and fuck me, more border radius and shadows and batshit guassian/glass effects?!?!

Immediately searching to see how I can turn these eye-stabs down…unlikely though.
A screenshot of the Finder app. Each section has it's own dropshadow with severe rounded corners, causing it not to be visibly clean what belongs to what.

that's going to take a while for chattypeattee to summarise into four sentences...

Love the recorder outro!

I always felt like the archive #FFConf logo looked like a plectrum, so I figured it was time to get some swag for those people who play (which sadly isn't me!)
A collection of plectrums with the FFConf logo on them.

Why does Duolingo have to be SUCH a dick?
A push notification to my phone from Duolingo with a very long series of repeated 👀 emoji and nothing else.

That's me! I'm super exited to give my first ever conference talk at #ffconf, the conference I've been going to for eight years at this point.

Heya, who else is going to @ffconf.org in Brighton this year? Friday 14th Nov 2025.ffconf.org

ffconf is my annual reminder that there are humans out there in the tech industry who actually care about other humans. Always a pleasure to attend. 😍💛
Hope to meet folks there.

@katiefenn.bsky.social I read (late) last night that the Greens did actually cross 100,000 members (remembering you saying you were excited about 6 figure membership) 🎉🫂

@ohhelloana.blog welcome to your Monday morning random question: I'm sure you told me about fruit flies laying eggs in plants (I hope it was you, otherwise it was a terrible dream) - did you have any suggestion to prevent it, or recover the plant?

Really lovely Lego set to build (gift for my birthday last month). Total shit to hang on the wall! Screws have protrude quite a bit to get purchase on the internal hooks.
A Lego set depicting the Great Wave, with a chrome light switch just off to the side.

I'm still in a mixed state. I've got a hue hub that still manages bulbs, but the actual control is through home assistant. Then I've got other hue bulbs that are part of my own ZigBee network (also managed through HA).

So, both I think the answer is

I went deep 18 months ago, so happy to answer specific questions if you have any.

(there's maybe a few things that be a pig to setup but vast majority is self discovered and pleasingly simple)

Not sure if anyone has said yet, but you can pull Philips Hue into the Home Assistant, and equally you can manage your own zigbee network (which is pretty simple with HA) with your own zigbee coordinator.

Definitely recommend. An HA green is a great easy step.

Some of where my @webdevconf.com slides that were supposed to be delivered via an actual game boy cart got to.

I just didn't factor the size of tiles required for the images vs. the 32k I had on the cart.
Several gameboy screens, some a mix of crusty photos, some are artwork in the 4 colours.

Ah, and that works on mobile too? (Not got an iPhone handy to test with)

Not that I'm affected, but this isn't available on iOS.

But also what you said, it's injected as author-origin, which suggests the spec even mentioning user-origin is completely defunct (sadly)
