The bakeneko and nekomata are of Japanese myth. They are cats that have lived a long life to become spirits. Bakeneko and Nekomata can transform into humans and speak the human language. Nekomata has two tails, while the Bakeneko has only one. A Nekomata is an older more powerful and evil Bakeneko.

The bunyip of Australian Aboriginal folklore is a monster said to inhabit the waters of swamps, wetlands or lagoons waiting for the opportunity to prey on humans. There are many interpretations of what the bunyip looked liked ranging from seals to even human looking.
