From 1895 until the 1940s, Bristol had a large and popular electric tram network (horse drawn trams had been in use since 1875).
Almost none of the original network remains but you can still see some of the tramlines beside the entrance to Bristol Temple Meads.

My 1956 first edition of Joseph Braddock's classic book on 'Haunted Houses' has this beautiful wraparound jacket design by Felix Kelly. Kelly's black and white illustrations inside the book are really effective, too.

Penguin Books are always a joy. Here are my 1960 editions of 'Quatermass II' and 'Quatermass And The Pit' teleplays. Both absolute classics, but I don't need to tell anyone that. The cover designs are by Nigel Kneale's brother Bryan. The first had a plain cover.
