Ya-but...

The big beautiful bill contains a prohibition against states regulating AI which positions Tesla for an ocean of profits from autonomous taxis.

Are these guys faking a fight?

That "big beautiful" budget bill has banned states from regulating AI for 10 years.

Weird debate going in the Saskatchewan legislature today. NDP wanting members of the governing Sask party flirting with separatism to be brought out of the shadows. Government members not responding directly. 😬 #canpoli

It is puzzling why the jury is being told about why the police did not lay charges earlier - this could confuse the jury about the law, strength of the Crown case and it is hearsay. Examining the complainant about other statements describing the incident is fair game.
May 5, 2025 at 9:43 PM
We would say witness credibility has internal (within that witness's story) and external consistency (compared to others or outside evidence).

Defence is pouncing on complainant saying she was very drunk which is not evident in the video. The point is not intoxication, rather truthfulness.
May 5, 2025 at 7:46 PM
The argument that "if she was really assaulted she would want charges to go ahead" is addressed in the case law - same fruitless line of argument for defence - there is no way a person responds to being victimized that is more legitimate than another.
May 5, 2025 at 7:29 PM
All 5 defence lawyers will q'n the complainant. Currently, defence lawyer arguing she lied bc she was cheating on a boyfriend. Problem: she said she consented to some sexual activity (not all) which blows up that theory. Her "credibility" like most sex assault trials is at the centre this.
May 5, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Defence is asking the complainant about why she was crying after incident; this is because the Crown can use a victim's emotional state after an incident to say it is consistent with the experience of victimization. Defence will argue there is more than one possible explanation.

This was not just another election but a growing clash of tidal forces. This deeper shift persists - it is so much more than differing political views.

This is a post about the election from a former police officer who is part of an international police organization called Police for Freedom.

Jagmeet Singh's numbers started to fall in Burnaby Central as soon as Trudeau resigned. Do the Liberals owe Singh his seat given the history? Or is it up to Burnaby to decide for itself?
