Perenus...well. He was raised to be a diplomat, essentially, and he enjoyed that, so probably that? His work in his family's archives is important to him, but he never would have wanted to make a *job* of it, I think.

Perenus would go for something that lets him use his people skills. Perhaps a negotiator or counselor? He's very good at being impartial, true to his family's teachings.
