And I swear, once again, this is not dunking on kids. We are seeing this at all levels--even grad students. AI + social media has had a profound impact on how we think and process our world, and we can't stop to reflect on it, because billionaires keep hurling addictive tech at us.

You absolutely need to change this headline. It's unacceptable and disrespectful to the people harmed by the pollution.

This article itself makes it clear that the water pollution linked to cancer and miscarriages is coming entirely from nitrate pollution from farms.

I read a theory years ago that posited that humans use the same parts of their brains to distinguish letters in a word that originally evolved to help us distinguish which plants we could eat. That we’re prewired to recognize words.
