Lovely vegan dinner hosted by @sladjanalazic.bsky.social of Inn Peace. Great company.
It’s Christmas already in Innsbruck.

In Innsbruck for the talk tomorrow. It’s cold - am glad I covered up. The Alps ranges are snow capped in the background. There are Christmas markets.
Come if you around tomorrow.

Amazing event in Marseille. Allez les personnes francophones - cet évènement va être superbe.
I can’t make it as am travelling.
The lesbian group, Groupe du 6 novembre, was a fabulous migrant lesbian group in France.
They didn’t allow the comfort of their silence to those who silenced them.

Memory studies scholar, Michael Rothberg, adeptly deploys an analytic forged in another discipline (activism, law, sociology). Known for conceptualising the helpful frame of 'multidirectional memory' (2009), his 2019 book reads 'implicated subject' through lens of Black feminism & intersectionality.

Dismantle the police, esp French police. He could have killed her!!!
It’s almost always Black/POC populations who are brutalised in this obnoxious way by the French police — using other racialised folks in this case. It is horrifying!
Public transit should be free!

Our silence will not protect us.

We need cool politicians! Seriously. Mamdani’s top 5 songs. Nani will soon become a common word as the west realises Indian languages have specific kinship terms (Nani, maternal grandma) for all relations.
Bank of Baroda connects him to Gujarat, his father’s origin.
My fave is #1 Spice - so catchy!

Times change; we change w/ them. Always a chin-up moment when your work is valued in your country of residence. Like wine, French language is an acquired taste for me though.
Humbled to join the editorial board/comité de rédaction of Genre, sexualité & société, a top-tier FR journal of sexualities.

At an event in NY in 2023, Mamdani read from Umar Khalid’s letter. Khalid, a PhD student and scholar has been unlawfully jailed in India; it’s been over four years.
Political prisoners are a blot on our conscience.

Might be useful for academics on Academia who would like to opt out of AI that may farm/harm their work. I use Academia to upload research and make it accessible, but big corpos (like Academia) have alternative plans.

What a beauty, this dance. Always wanted to learn how to dance (mostly uncoordinated moves - me). I’ve found my teacher, Noel Alexander, in the state of Kerala, India.
He’s taught the kid so well!

Think of Vance publicly demanding his wife to convert to Christianity through how whiteness ‘always already implies supremacism'(Lentin), part of ‘multiculturalist white supremacy’ (Rodriguez).
Usha V is no victim though. She’s an enabler of the white supremacist project that has turned against her.

On 14th Oct 2025, France Insoumise MPs fielded a bill to remove ‘sex’ designation from government IDs (French CNIs). A step in the right direction; much awaited & well appreciated. Belgium has a provision for enbys, I’m aware. France would be the first to do away w/ it for all, if written into law.

Fruit tastes best when local and in season. I brought back pomegranates from Greece as souvenir. It’s one of my fave fruit. I’ve had one every day this week. One last left.

Reminder that some folks paid a huge price for liberation and understood what it implied to disrupt systems of ransom that whiteness exercises transnationally.
Refusal participates in emancipation.

Sabrina Sebaihi, Green Party MP (France), denouncing with brio ‘l’Algérophobie’ and obsession with Algeria of the far-right party, RN. RN (formerly Front National) wishes to axe the 1968 France-Algeria accord.

Partner is a yellow daal boy. We have daal almost three times a week! And on his birthday we have daal in a lovely Afghani joint. We’ve known the Afghan uncle for at least 15 years :-) Afghani yellow daal is as succulent as always.

So yes some sections of El Moudjahid have been translated in this > 700 page compendium. Fanon’s pan-Africanism is on brand as is his incisive critique of de Gaulle. He formulates idea of ‘combatant anticolonialism’.
⤵️ Speech at All-African Peoples’ Conference, 1958, published in the journal.

Morning! Fanon students, one question:
Has the Algerian journal El Moudjahid been translated into English?
Also translation is full of complex meanings.
I don’t know but ‘mort atmosphérique’ cant simply be ‘omnipresent death’? It doesn’t include ‘social death’ that Fanon’s alludes to here, right?

Demeaning white supremacist bullcr*p.
1. Human worth is more than rhetorics of contribution.
2. Freddie was born a British subject, like other white folks, who tend to forget it. Not a migrant.
3. Loved so much that Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie) had to erase his Indian-Parsi heritage.
Get a grip!

Please stop wasting our time. Pause before you write. ‘Postcolonial theory … its younger cousin decolonial theory’

Younger cousin? I’d still prefer cousin brother/sister as they say in India were I in a flippant mood.

Who writes this rubbish?
