I need help.
I took my 18y cat, Frodo, back to the vet to check a lump on his neck. Between the check up and blood work needed to see if he's healthy enough to have the lump removed, it cost $275. If he can have surgery, I'll get it removed (not sure how much $ yet)...

Frodo survived his surgery! Thank you, thank you thank you everyone for your support. He's not out of the woods, he needs to get back to eating on his own, but he's here and wanted his morning snuggles! My heart is whole again. ❤️❤️❤️

Plans have changed again. Frodo is going in for his surgery tomorrow. I have to drive through a snow storm to get him there first thing in the morning. I'm terrified this will be my last day with him as I know the surgery is very risky for him.

The blood work is back. Frodo's kidneys are still within the range for surgery, but his heart may be a problem. He needs to go for further testing to treat it properly before surgery so, it has been delayed. I know once he gets past this, he still has a lot of life left in him.

The vet re-reviewed Frodo's file and think it will be ok. He's on pain killers that helped him eat a bit. He going back in for blood work to make sure his lack of eating hasn't changed his situation. If everything remains stable, he has a surgery date end of this month. 🙏🤞

The vet doesn't want to try the surgery any more bc Frodo isn't eating. I should've pushed harder to have the lump removed months ago when it was small. Frodo is my world.

Blood work for Frodo is in. Not great, but not horrible. I'm waiting to hear if the surgeon feels comfortable doing surgery on him. I'll hopefully know within a week. I don't believe in the utility of prayer for change, but I understand the comfort it brings. 🙏for him.
