My story in COSTS OF LIVING is a rare venture into Chicago writing for me. It is about those grotesque Midwest millipedes that invade our homes every summer. I hope you will share this post and support this book!

Ray Bradbury told me in the last few years of his life that he had started a science fiction novel about a group of Catholic Cardinals who go out into space to find God. This is just one idea he shared with me that he never finished.

Watching the funeral of Vice President Cheney today, you see bipartisanship, integrity, humor, and family. Contrast that with the hate, angry, and criminality of the current White House.

America deserves so much more. 🇺🇸

Seriously one of the most criminally underrated bands of the 1990s. If only a reunion were possible.

It’s #Godzilla Day, but did you know that Ray Bradbury’s 1951 short story was an influence on the creation of Japan’s most infamous Kaiju? Bradbury’s story influenced the film THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS which, in turn, influenced the OG GODZILLA!

Today is the birthday of artist Steve Ditko, one of key creators of the Marvel Age of comics, including Spider-Man, the most recognized fictional character in the world. Happy birthday, Mr. Ditko, and thanks for all the memories.

My dear friend, the indomitable Scott Sorry, passed yesterday on his 47th birthday. We were kindred sprits in creativity and were working on an amazing project together. I write about it in the link below. I also include the GoFundMe link to help his family.

I interviewed Ace Frehley twice over the years. Once for my book THE BRADBURY CHRONICLES (2005) and again in 2009 at the Gibson office in NYC for Stop Smiling magazine. When it was wrapped, he stood up and gave me a hug. Here’s that interview. #acefrehley

Here is the 1st page of my story, “Creepy Crawly” from the newly released, fantastic domestic horror anthology, COSTS OF LIVING. I was thrilled when KIRKUS REVIEWS singled my story out in its glowing review.

Washington Post dismantled the platform Jamal wrote on. Discarded the fellowship they created in his memory.

They fired me unjustly for speaking the truth.

But I’ll never stop talking about my friend, writer, and amazing human, Jamal Khashoggi.

RIP, Jamal.

We are living in a new Gilded Age: exorbitant wealth, staggering inequality, concentrated power, rampant corruption, and industrial capitalism taking precedence over working families. But the Progressive era was a response to the Gilded Age and history will repeat itself.
