Acknowledging the truth regarding the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 is not easy or enjoyable, but it is absolutely necessary.

I am not disposed to offer pleasing sentiments of shallow hope regarding Covid-19. My intention is to express the harsh truth of rampant contagion, repeated infections, mass illness, and excess mortality, for the urgent purpose of promoting necessary action to achieve collective safety.

Some argue that the Roman-era cults of Dionysus, Persephone, Isis and Osiris, and Orpheus, could have had an influence on the Catholic ritual of communion, a rather esoteric and mystical tradition for what has become a rather mundane religion (again, no offense intended)
